As we all live and breathe each day we learn new tidbits (and sometimes timbits) of information. How often over the years, I've read something and thought "wtf does that mean?" Here I will try and answer some of those lil anagrams and brain teasers in the biker world.
Ask not what the club can do for you, but what can I do for the club. "What can I do to help my Brothers?" Is a question I ask daily, its not only an ideal for me. I have been hanging around the biker world all of my life and if there are a coupla things that usually make everyone happy; it's servitude with gratitude. Whether its prospecting, hanging around or full patch membership; the small things make the difference. It's these little things to which make the Risen Dead MC unparalleled in fraternal camaraderie. I am personally proud to be a part of a Nation that tackles international boundaries, preconceived notions and skeptical eyes from every corner... A Brotherhood born of a Brotherhood. Many of us are Freemasons who've chosen to take the term Brotherhood beyond ideals and the Craft. Faith without works is dead and actions speak louder than words. The Risen Dead MC is truly a unique international Club and Family. We ride in a balanced state between our convictions and what is expected of us. We are a Family who stands tall in truth, relief, brotherly love and some old school fun. This is my opinion and what I have experienced. ~Pyrate
What Prospecting means to me...
I grew up in the 1970's for the most part. My Dad (may he RIP) told me a story of how he and a brother rode a couple of old BSA's to a farm in upstate New York from southern Ontario in the late 60's for what was to be known as the Woodstock Music Festival & Fair. He said they got within a mile of it and the crowd was so thick. They just stopped where they were and rolled into the ditch. They loaded a golf ball sized hunk of hashish onto a big spike, lit 'er up n' smoked it right there as the sounds from the show beyond the gates floated to them on the breeze until the rains came. It was a normal occurrence to walk out the door of our country house, smell the sun baked leathers intermingling with gasoline vapors and see a half dozen or more bikes in the front yard. Several rough lookin' guys, some in jean jackets and most drinking from short, stubby bottles of John Labatt 50. My Pappy, (his road name was 'Keck' - apparently his brothers thought it fitting from the sound he made while puking) was a member of a now defunct club of guys who rode British dirt flat trackers. They called themselves the Brotherhood of James, (which btw was the name of the company whose standard competition frame is what they used for building all their bikes). They weren't riding for an image on TV, they were just themselves. A bunch of men who prized building their bikes, the thrill of racing 'em and partying together as much as they could. I wasn't a member of my old mans club, nor did he ever talk to me about it. As a matter of fact, it is one of the few things in his life he never talked about with anyone till the day he died. Anything I know is purely from what I observed as a child. These are some "tips" kinda, from what I surmised and gleaned from being the son of a 'good ol boy'.
Here is a small blurb from Forgiven Biker's webpage article on 1% Brotherhood being God's idea. I thought it was fairly well written and it has tons of little gold mines like this one in it: "This original set of colors is called just that, his ‘originals’. Your originals must never be laundered or cleaned. Any soil only reflects the many miles of hard road, hard parties and hard fighting it has seen. It shows the true sign of a veteran. A great celebration commences to initiate the new patch-holder. Some of these celebrations last several days. As part of the ceremony, some clubs even soil the new patch for their new brother, so as not to have him stand out as the new guy when riding in a pack or attending an event. One time, when attending a Biker wedding, some Christian Motorcycle Ministries were there. Among the Christians was a new member of a Christian Motorcycle Ministry. He had not been around real outlaws very much but had purchased his Harley and joined a Christian Motorcycle Ministry. He even sported some fresh tattoos; so as to look the part. One of the outlaw patch-holders walked up behind him to pat him on the back. This gesture was simply to show appreciation for helping out with some of the wedding details. Walking in a swift swagger, in one swift movement, the outlaw biker bent over and scooped up a hand full of driveway dirt and gravel. With a boisterous patting and rubbing motion, he brushed the soil onto the shiny, clean, new patch on the Christian’s back. Red-faced from frustration, the Christian abruptly spun around and expressed his disapproval. The outlaw responded in shock (and disappointment) as he explained he was merely helping him polish away the new boy look. The Christian piously retorted that he would earn any soil himself. He didn’t realize the outlaw was treating him with respect and considered his rejoinder as self-adulation. It takes many years for a citizen (non-biker) to understand this clannish community’s many differences." I have enjoyed retelling this one to a few people as it is a great illustration that not everything is as it seems. Believe none of what you see and only half of what you hear, question everything! ~RDF☠FRD~ According to one Brother who was there, "ultimately, a great day of riding supportinging a good cause. And a fucking beauty of a day at that.." Sounds like it was a great event to participate in and for those who did, they had a great time. It's always gratifying to see the Risen Dead MC represented at community events. We continue to greet the masses and demonstrate the Risen Dead Nation has been, is and will always be a First Class, Top Left & Kick Ass Motorcycle Club. Good show Brethren! Check back soon for more photos and maybe a few road tales & ales.
~RDFFRD~ Here is a number of quotes, some known, some not; that I've collected over time. Let's hear some of your favourite sayings, post 'em in the comments.
Let then, our act every morning be to make the following resolve for the day: I shall not fear anyone on earth. I shall fear only god. I shall not bear ill will toward anyone. I shall not submit to injustice from anyone. I shall conquer untruth by truth. And in resisting untruth I shall put up with all suffering. - Mahatma Gandhi The Grand Lodge of British Columbia & the Yukon have some great Masonic Mottos HERE.

Let's get out there n' demonstrate why we are a first class, top left & fuckin' amazing MC!
~RDFFRD~ On September 15th, 2016 Jay "Doughboi" Mahoe & Darien Garner lives were cut tragically short from a motorcycle collision. Jay "Doughboi" Mahoe wasn't a member of the Risen Dead MC. He was looked upon and held close like a true Brother; he was a Brother in the hearts of many a member of the Risen Dead Nation. His loss reverberated internationally and he has poignantly touched the lives of a great many who never had the privilege to know and ride with him. GBNF Darien had two darling baby girls; one years old and four years old... A go fund me page has been set up to look after these girls as they get older. It's hard enough growing up in this world, let alone without a mommy... Please reach deep and help these precious little angels overcome one hell of a kick in the pants to start life with. https://www.gofundme.com/2pfgxu2k Update: Link to newspaper article announcing the Ride to cover Doughboi's funeral costs, HERE.
